General psychiatry covers the common problems of the mind: depression, anxiety and panic, obsessions and compulsions, sleep trouble, anger and long-term stress. It also covers less common but serious conditions such as bipolar disorder and psychosis.

Dr. Abdullah first works out what is going on, then explains it in plain words. Treatment may be talking therapy, medicines, or both, and the plan is written down so you and your family know what comes next.

How it works

  1. A full first assessment

Your symptoms, sleep, health, family background and current stresses, so the diagnosis is right before anything is prescribed.

  2. Therapy where it helps

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy are used for anxiety, OCD, depression and stress.

  3. Medicines when needed

Started at a low dose, explained clearly, reviewed at every follow-up and stopped with a plan, never suddenly.

  4. Follow-up

Regular reviews to check progress and side effects, with the family involved only if you want them to be.

Common questions

Will I have to take medicines for life?

Most people do not. Many conditions are treated for a set period and the medicine is then reduced slowly. Some long-term conditions need longer treatment, and this is discussed openly with you.

Can I get therapy without medicines?

Yes, for many people with mild to moderate anxiety, depression or stress, therapy alone is a good first step. Dr. Abdullah will tell you honestly if medicines are likely to help more.

Is OCD treatable?

Yes. OCD responds to a specific form of CBT called exposure and response prevention, often combined with medicines.
